Found in Georgia during two-week “Operation Not Forgotten” mission.
Thirty-nine missing children were found in Georgia during a two-week investigation and mission in August. The “Operation Not Forgotten” mission resulted in the rescue of 26 children, the safe location of 13 children, and the arrest of 9 criminal associates in Atlanta and Macon.
The mission was led by the U.S. Marshals Service Missing Children Unit in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as state and local authorities.
These children were considered to be some of the most at-risk and challenging case subjects, based on indications of high-risk factors such as victimization of child sex trafficking, child exploitation, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and medical or mental health conditions.
Director of the Marshals Service Donald Washington said, “The message to missing children and their families is that we will never stop looking for you.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- With thanksgiving for the work of the U.S. Marshals and others in rescuing the 39 missing children.
- For the thousands of other children who have been trafficked in the U.S. and abroad.
- For the president’s administration as they support efforts to end human trafficking.
